“Listen these next few days to your friends to get answers you seek.”
Hi, folks. Sorry, my website’s been down and a few posts deleted. Unfortunately, I’ve been getting a lot of spam in my posts and generally getting attacked. I’m not sure if it’s a WordPress thing or my own poor computer skills. I’d still love to blog once in a while, but I’m beginning to feel bogged down by it all.
Any advice for me? Do you keep a blog? Recommendations on having your own WordPress.org site or getting a managed website? Let me know. Thanks!
Lots of hacking on WordPress sites. Check out this article:

The important question (if I was in your shoes) is to ask myself: honestly, do I enjoy blogging? Can I blog at least once per week?
If the answer is yes, I’d generate a list of ten topic areas I enjoy writing about that others might enjoy reading about.
For example, do you enjoy multicultural fiction? Post a book review once a month.
The reason I read is because I enjoy learning about other cultures, how other writers keep writing, and challenges writers have in the publishing world. I also like an inspirational or family story.
Yes, Mona. I think I’ll try to make a top ten list. That might help me refocus my energies. Thanks!
I’m sorry to read about your issues with your blogging journey, Jennifer. I’m lucky to have a tech husband who looks after our domain and other “things,” so I’ve been quite safe. Although since my blog was profiled through different WordPress platforms late December 2016, I’ve started to get many more followers and among them a few spammers. I’ve been able to delete them. Check your server host. Ours does a great job at warning us if there is any unusual activity and is very proactive.
As for the frequency of your blog posts, it’s really up to you. I post when I have something to share. I don’t follow a calendar but I love your Friday Foodie very much (for the name and the food) and was thinking of having a French Friday. :)
It would force me to come up with a French topic that day.
And I agree with Mona’s opinion. I love to read about things I don’t know. We are living an incredible period of time. As hard as it seems it seems that more and more people are hungry to embrace the rich diversity of our humanity. It is a perfect moment to show who you are and what makes you who you are.
I hope to read you, one way or another. Good luck!
Aw, thanks for the encouragement, Evelyne. Your point about diversity resonates with me.
And French Friday would be fun :)
You’re welcome, Jennifer. Then I will do my best for French Friday, which is today and I’m just back from two awesome school visits. I’m tired but got so many questions about anything and everything French that I should come up with something.
