Posted @withregram • @cspina With some states, it is difficult to find cozy mysteries to highlight for my #50Cozies50States project, but that is definitely not the issue for California! California is another state where there are lots of cozy series that take place fully within its borders and I had to pick and choose between them. I decided to focus on newer or less well-known series for this post, but maybe someday I'll come back for a part 2.
* Death by Bubble Tea by Jennifer J. Chow - Jennifer J. Chow herself is a great example of how many fun series are set in California since she has the Sassy Cat Mystery series also set there. I decided to focus on this series for a few reasons. First, I really wish I could go to the night market in this book! Second, I love how it centers on the main character, Yale Yee, and her visiting cousin, since I enjoy family dynamics in cozies. Finally, I chose to focus on this book because the next in the series will be out in June, so you can pre-order it now! (But you should also check out the Sassy Cat Mystery series!)
* Cheddar Off Dead by Korina Moss - This is set at a cheese shop, which immediately caught my attention as a cheese lover! I love the small town setting and the main character in this one. This series has two books out now and two more coming this year!
